WHY LOCATION MATTERS: CHOOSING THE RIGHT AREA FOR YOUR NEW HOME

Why Location Matters: Choosing the Right Area for Your New Home

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘location, location, location’ but how important is it really when you are on the search for a new home? The answer is very! The location of a property can determine everything from its value to your quality of life. Let’s take a look at why…

Value

The value of a property can be heavily impacted based on its location, in fact exactly the same property in two different locations could be valued completely differently depending if that area is desirable or not. From a buyer perspective, you want a property which is going to build more value over time and become a good investment.

Liveability

One of the most important factors when you are buying a property to make into a home is its liveability, is it liveable for you? Do the types of houses in the area suit your family and lifestyle? For example, if you want a big farm style property to house a big family, there’s probably not much point browsing the smaller properties or apartments for sale in the heart of the city.

Amenities

Some properties on the market have an abundance of amenities in the area and others don’t. What’s more important for you as you search for your forever home? Do you need a school close by for children who will be starting school soon? Do you like to have shops and everything you need close by so you can pop out at a moment’s notice?

Transportation

Thriving city with multiple commuter transport links or quiet countryside where you need to be able to drive to and from your commitments? The property and location you choose will directly affect your needs so it’s important to consider what area best fits in with your life.

Area Development

If you are buying a property as an investment for the future, it’s a good idea to research which areas are up and coming or have plans for further development as this could mean you could buy a property for a reasonable price and sell it further down the line for a profit.
