BRISK START IN 2021 HOUSING MARKET

Brisk Start In 2021 Housing Market

We know the start of 2021 has been challenging. The latest lockdown is a blow for many people, but at HoldenCopley, we are still here to assist you. The housing market has remained open, and if you are looking for guidance or assistance, we can help.

We have spoken with many local buyers and vendors. We know there is still demand for property in Nottingham.

We also stay in touch with the latest news from leading names and sources in the housing market. One of the biggest names in the UK housing industry is Rightmove. The leading property portal says the start of 2021 has been their busiest start to a year yet, which indicates there is considerable activity in the housing market.

Rightmove says the level of buyer activity on their site is 30% higher in comparison with the January 2020 figures.

People still want to move home in 2021

It is inevitable the lockdown will lead to people re-evaluating what is important to them, and whether their current home meets their needs. It should therefore be expected to see people looking for new property at this time.

The figures provided by lockdown suggests for Tuesday 5th January and Wednesday 6th, there was an 11% increase in buyer enquiries. There was also an increase in the rental market of 22%.

We can help landlords in Stoke Newington too

There is prominent demand for rental property too, so if you’re a local landlord, make sure you get in touch with us. We work closely with many landlords and tenants, so if you’re looking for guidance or quick support, we are here for you.

We appreciate the start of 2021 has been challenging for many people, but if you are looking for assistance, we are here for you. Get in touch, and we’ll do what we can to ensure 2021 is a successful year for you in the property market.

Tim Bannister, Rightmove’s Director of Property Data, comments: "January is usually one of our busiest months of the year as people start to make new year plans to move, as was the case at the start of last year when we also had the post-election bounce that gave hope of an active spring market, before that all changed with the temporary closure from March until May. We didn’t know how this year would start with so much change and uncertainty around restrictions, but it’s been reassuring for those people hoping or needing to move that the demand we’ve seen so far is the highest we’ve ever had in January.”

"The housing market has been allowed to stay open during these latest lockdowns and agents have already spent months working in a covid-secure way and creating a number of property videos, so buyers and renters starting out on their search this year will find that, alongside the safe viewing protocols, more agents are offering virtual viewings to help buyers and renters better shortlist the properties they want to go and see."
